The site control unit is Millennium devices' communications hub and memory buffer. Millenium access control supports up to 99 DCDs/EDCDs, 4 ECUs, and 10 ESCUs using a twisted pair, multi-drop, RS-485 communications protocol. It also includes two programmable single-pole form C relays rated for two amps @ 24 VDC and stores up to 2,000 card transactions.
Tellus is an advanced online access control solution designed to meet the security needs of sites with up to 32 doors. Millennium access controls eliminate the need for servers and complex software installation, enabling new sites to dash. It offers many integrations, including wireless locks and third-party hardware.

EDCDs communicate with the Millennium software through Site Control Units (SCUs or ESCUs). The SCUs provide bidirectional communication between the EDCD and other Millennium devices via a twisted pair, multi-drop RS-485 polling scheme. Each EDCD contains two programmable single-pole Form C relays rated for ten amps @ 24 VDC. EDCDs store up to 2,000 transaction histories in memory if communications with the SCU are lost.
The PS1 power supply provides a robust, filtered DC power source for the controller boards. Millenium access control includes a secondary board that links the controllers and generates polarization for RS-485 communication. It requires a 120 VAC input on a 2 Amp unswitched dedicated circuit (EC2-101190). It also has measures to prevent unauthorized data manipulation and hacking.
